About 100 residents of the Konzokala Electoral Area in the Jirapa Municipality have been left homeless after a heavy rainstorm destroyed properties on May 13, 2026.
The rain, which started around 5:00 p.m., damaged several houses, stores, schools, and places of worship in the area.
About 10 high-tension electricity poles and several low-tension poles were also brought down, leaving many parts of the community without power.
The Assemblyman for the area, Hon. Salia Stephen Dafaa, has appealed to the government through the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), NGOs, and other charitable organizations to support affected residents.
