The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Lawra, Hon. Cecilia Soyelleh Nuratu, has officiated the commencement of two critical educational infrastructure projects within the municipality.
The ceremony began at Birifoh Batang on December 22, 2025. Where the MCE cut the sod for the construction of a two-unit Kindergarten block, complete with ancillary facilities. Subsequently, at Eremon Naayiri-bong, Hon. Soyelleh Nuratu inaugurated the building of a separate two-unit classroom block.
During the day's engagements, the MCE also conducted an inspection tour of the ongoing renovation works at the Municipal Finance Officer’s bungalow. She directed the contractors to ensure the project maintains its schedule for timely completion.
These development projects are fully funded through the Municipal Assembly’s Common Fund.
The event was attended by a delegation of municipal officials, including the Coordinating Director, Officers for Planning, Budget and Finance, the Works and Housing Engineer, and the Ghana Education Service Planning Officer.
The ceremonies were witnessed by local chiefs, elders, and community members, who welcomed the initiatives. They commended the Assembly for its sustained commitment to addressing infrastructure needs and advancing development in the area.
