WINNEBA, Ghana – The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has officially released its re-opening calendar for the 2025-2026 academic year, detailing a phased arrival and registration process for fresh and continuing students across both regular and distance learning programmes.
According to the published schedule, the academic year will commence in January 2026 with a staggered return to campus. Fresh students are expected to arrive on Saturday, January 3, 2026, followed by continuing students a week later on Saturday, January 10, 2026.
A key component of the welcome activities is the orientation programme for new students. Regular fresh students will undergo orientation from Monday, January 5, to Saturday, January 10, 2026. Fresh students enrolled in the Distance Education programme will have their orientation slightly later, spanning Wednesday, January 7, to Saturday, January 10, 2026.
The university has also outlined distinct online course registration windows. Continuing students (both regular and distance) are to register for courses between Monday, November 24, 2025, and Friday, January 9, 2026. Fresh students will have their registration period from Monday, January 12, to Friday, January 23, 2026.
In adherence to institutional health protocols, mandatory medical examinations for fresh regular students are scheduled from Thursday, January 15, to Friday, January 23, 2026.
The academic instruction period is set as follows:
- Lectures for Regular Students will run from Monday, January 12, to Friday, April 3, 2026.
- Tutorials for Distance Students will be held from Saturday, January 10, to Sunday, March 29, 2026.
Prospective and returning students are advised to note these critical dates to ensure a smooth transition into the new academic year.
