NANDOM, Ghana – The Member of Parliament for Nandom Constituency, Hon. Lawyer Richard Kuuire, has allocated GH¢250,000 from his share of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) funds to directly support local healthcare infrastructure. The donation was materialized in essential equipment and handed over to the Nandom Municipal Health Directorate on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.
The presentation ceremony was officiated by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Anthony Ziniel, who inspected and handed over the items. The consignment was received by the Municipal Director of Health Services, Madam Rukaya Wumnaya.
Procured with the MP's allocation, the support package includes critical operational items: 3,000 patient folders to improve record-keeping, 5 HP laptops for data management, 1 Apsonic motorbike to facilitate community health outreach, and 10 boxes of A4 sheets, among other essential supplies.
"This intervention is timely and will significantly address some of our pressing logistical challenges," Madam Rukaya Wumnaya stated, upon receiving the items. She emphasized that the donation would bolster administrative efficiency and mobile health services within the municipality.
MPs in Ghana receive annual allocations from the NHIS fund, intended for health-related projects within their constituencies. Hon. Kuuire's direct channeling of his full GH¢250,000 share into the municipal health directorate's procurement process underscores a targeted approach to addressing gaps in the local health system.
The MCE, Hon. Anthony Ziniel, commended the MP for the commitment, noting that the items would be deployed immediately to enhance healthcare delivery across the Nandom Municipality.
