JIRAPA, Ghana – Mr. Thomas Ahazuma Yerku has been officially installed as the new Manager for the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) in the Jirapa Municipality. The transition follows the promotion of the former manager to the regional level.
The handover was formalized today January 15, 2026, during a meeting at the Municipal Assembly. A delegation from the NHIS, led by the outgoing Manager, Mr. Dery Francis Xavier, introduced Mr. Yerku to the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Peter N. N. To-ang.
Mr. Dery Francis Xavier has been reassigned to the Upper West Regional NHIS office after his promotion. The visiting team included Madam Agnes Sabogu, the Scheme’s Public Relations Officer, and Mr. Kabieta, the Accountant.
In his remarks, MCE Hon. Peter To-ang congratulated both managers on their new appointments. He extended best wishes to Mr. Xavier for his future duties at the regional level and urged the entire NHIS staff to offer their full cooperation to the new manager.
Hon. To-ang charged Mr. Yerku with building upon the foundation laid by his predecessor. “The people of Jirapa expect quality services from your office,” MCE Hon. To-ang stated, directly urging the new manager to work hard to meet public expectations and deliver improved results.
The leadership change is effective immediately, with Mr. Thomas Ahazuma Yerku now overseeing the operations of the NHIS office in the Jirapa municipality.
